Hungarian Health Care System

Hungarian health-care is outstanding with its state-of-the-art equipment and highly qualified medical professionals.

Although the reforms of the centrally governed, state-owned system (which is quite similar to the way NHS works) has created controversies and incited critique, it has not affected the quality of the service, especially not in the private sector which has been expanding rapidly over the past few years.

The education of medical professionals in health care system is excellent. As a proof of worldwide acknowledgment, the renowned medical schools of the country are attended by students from all over the world. For a more detailed description of the dentistry course please visit the homepage of the Debrecen Medical School.

Practicing is legally regulated: registration at the Medical Chamber ensues upon the completion of the required exams, including not only a general medical university diploma but a speciality certificate as well, which is a prerequisite for a GP or dentist to go private or work without supervision in any national surgery.

Dentist therefore must adhere to very high standards. In addition to strict professional requirements, the EU standards also apply, which are taken very seriously indeed. Government authorities regulate infection and sterilization control in the case of private surgeries as well. It goes without saying that very high quality materials are used for every dental procedure.

The reason for Hungarian dental care being far less expensive than in the UK is the fact that wages and general costs of living are much lower here.
